Transmission Analysis Group
The Transmission Analysis Group
is dedicated to establishing a science of transmission system analysis
through both abstraction of simplified transmission systems and the
programming of adaptively interacting computer agents whose behavior
causes a transmission system to emerge.
Pattern Formation Group
The Pattern Formation Group is discussing various problems in which
complex patterns arise in natural processes in biology, chemistry,
physics, and materials science. In the Winter 1995 semester we discussed
protein folding. In Fall 1995 and Winter 1996 semesters we looked at
patterns in surface chemical reactions related to catalysis. For more
information, contact the group leader, Leonard
Sander.
The Political Economy Interest Group
We bring together faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students
who are interested in research in political economy using techniques from
game theory, complexity, adaptive modelling, and rational choice. Our
group has an on-going seminar where students present research in progress
and where outside speakers are occasionally invited to present. The group
has two co-leaders, Yan Chen (Economics) and Ken Kollman (Political
Science). For more information, contact Ken
Kollman.
