I am a faculty member in Anthropology and Biology. I am also faculty in the Institute of Statistical Genetics, the Molecular and Clinical Epidemiology of Infectious Disease, and the Genome Training Grant. I am interested in looking at human dispersal patterns during initial and subsequent peopling events (the peopling ofthe New World, the Pacific, Austrailia, etc...), by tying together genetic variation from a multitude of genetic systems (including mtDNA, Y and X chromosme DNA, nuclear STRs and SNPs,) with language, culture, archaeological evidence, and environment. Complex systems approaches would obviously be applicable to this kind of data. I am looking for students and faculty interested in collaborating on this project. Please contact me at 734-764-6896, andym@umich.edu, check out my web page at http://www.umich.edu/~andym/

    Cheers,
    Andy Merriwether
